Aims:

For Social Workers to have the confidence to complete a strong evidence based Social Work Evidence Template (SWET).

To clearly identify the reasons why the Local Authority is making an application for an order in the child’s life.

Objectives:

• Produce clear evidence that the child’s story has been told.
• Produce strong evidence based analysis that supports the position of the Local Authority; that the best option for the child at this time is removal from their current care.
• Reduce the need to return to court.
• Reduce the need for additional work.
• Increase confidence of the court in Sefton, as well as individual credibility.
• Keep children safe.

Audience:

Anyone in Children’s Services who has responsibility for completing / overseeing initial SWET’s for court, specifically all Social Workers, Assistant Team Managers, and Team Managers who will be expected to complete this piece of work, or to quality assure it.
